Growing old Is a beautiful thing and a blessing. It does however come with challenges such as; loss of complete independence as a result of geriatric illnesses, or just the phenomenon of aging in itself. Therefore, it is required that the aged receive adequate assistance in varying degrees, handling day to day activities.
In these modern times in which children and close relatives are busy with careers and raising their own families, the traditional support system for senior citizens has become quite dysfunctional especially in the cities. As a result, the elderly gets very lonely which stirs within them a desire for social interaction with their peers in a homely setting environment. Also, it is often not easy for busy professionals or entrepreneurs to take care of an elderly relative in their own homes, as some may require a lot of attention and care as much as 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
The Shepherd’s Haven Home is approved by the Lagos State Government and it was founded to address directly the physical, social and emotional needs of the elderly and the expectations of their loving children and relatives. We bring to the table a robust and holistic approach to caring for the elderly.
